Compassionate Quality Psychiatry strives to provide individualized care and will work with you, listening to your goals and hopes for treatment and develop a plan together. We are experienced in treating a variety of mental health concerns including adjustment disorders, anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar, schizophrenia, trauma/PTSD, ADHD, drug abuse and addiction, chronic Illness management, co-occurring disorders, BPD, and more.

Compassionate Quality Psychiatry believes in a patient-centered approach and develop plans collaboratively with patients. Medications may be part of that plan either short or long-term depending on what will best support you through your journey.

Same Week Appointments

Meet with a provider from the comfort of your home or you are welcome to schedule an in office appointment if you are located by our Hermantown, MN office. Compassionate Quality Psychiatry was created to provide affordable, convenient, quality care to those that need it. Appointments are available some evenings and we strive to see client's with in 7 business days. Medications are prescribed electronically to the local or mail order pharmacy of your choice.

We offer Suboxone Medication Services to assist those in overcoming opioid addiction.

We strive to reduce the impact of mental health on individuals, families and communities by expanding the access for care and reducing stigma. We strive to provide collaborative care while promoting recovery and resilience.

Insurances currently accepted and credentialed with: United Heathcare (UHC), UMR, Medicaid, Medicare, BCBS, HealthPartners, Cigna, Medica, ChampVA, and Ucare. Discounted rates available for those without insurance.

Introduction: I am a Board-Certified Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with over 13 years of experience working collaboratively with patients in Northern Minnesota. I believe every person has a right to receive compassionate, quality mental health care in a timely manner. I have a collaborative patient care philosophy, believing optimal mental health is achieved when a provider and patient work as a team. It is my hope that I can work in conjunction with every individual with whom I meet to develop a collaborative and holistic plan of care. I believe that the best care is developed cooperatively in the journey to wellness.
I have an extensive background in serving patients with co-occurring disorders (mental health and substance use). My goal is to help individuals reform themselves without shaming. I am motivated to help individuals move to sobriety and embrace healthier lifestyle choices. I am certified and waivered to prescribe buprenorphine in the treatment of opioid use disorder.

Introduction: Hello to everyone! I am a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) located in northern Minnesota. I began my studies in Northern Minnesota and earned my bachelor's degree from the College of St. Scholastica. I moved on to earn my master's and doctorate degree from the University of South Alabama in 2015. I have more than eight years of experience providing mental health care and medication management via telehealth and in an outpatient office setting as a board certified family psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. I am passionate about helping people and mental health. I strive to reduce the stigma associated with mental health and provide culturally sensitive, non-judgmental, person-centered care. I believe in a holistic, collaborative approach and am looking forward to the opportunity to work with you on meeting your goals. I have the goal to provide quality, compassionate, and timely mental healthcare to the community in Minnesota.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes, we are credentialed and contracted with most major insurance payers in Minnesota.  Please contact your insurance company to verify we are contracted with your insurance carrier.    

Do you accept HSA/FSA credit cards?

All major credit/debit cards including HSA or FSA cards are accepted providing they are Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express.  You will be provided a receipt.

Do you prescribe medication?

Yes, medications are often part of the treatment plan and are prescribed electronically and they are sent to the pharmacy you choose. Commonly prescribed medications include: antidepressants, anti-anxiety medications, sleep aids, mood stabilizers, and antipsychotics.

Do you prescribe stimulants?

Stimulants may be prescribed on a case-by-case basis when there is supporting evidence of a clinical need. Often records supporting the need would be required. Stimulants are not prescribed when there is an active substance use disorder. Stimulants are controlled medication monitored by the MN prescription monitoring program and have a higher potential for abuse and addiction. Despite associated risks there may be times when this treatment is clinically appropriate and would be prescribed.

Do you prescribe benzodiazepines/hypnotics?

Benzodiazepines/hypnotics are not intended for long term treatment of anxiety disorders/panic disorder/ or insomnia. They are generally not prescribed long term as they are known to be addictive and one’s body can become physically or psychologically dependent on these.  Central nervous system (CNS) depression is a known serious side effect. These are controlled medications monitored by the MN prescription monitoring program a higher potential for abuse and addiction.  Despite associated risks there may be times when this treatment is clinically appropriate and would be prescribed.  

Can I work with CQP if I do not have insurance?

Yes, we offer discounted, pay on service date rates.  You can inquire about these rates by sending a message or calling 612-429-1011 for more information.  
Additionally, no one will be denied access to services due to inability to pay. There is a discounted/sliding fee schedule available. Please message or call the office for additional information.
